Making a house a home

Making a house a home is possible whatever the size. The classic box room that forms part of all new built homes can easily be transformed into a fully functional kids’ bedroom if designed with this in mind.

For this particular project the brief was to update a small bedroom into a fun girly space for a two- year- old toddler. As it is a rented property my client was not able to change it structurally. Instead of just using the cupboard as storage, we utilised it and created a focal point within the room. A soft ambiance was created by using the correct lighting which is the perfect way to send those little ones off to dream land. The existing chest of drawers were revitalized by a lick of paint. A Glass glass dome was upcycled into an adorable one of a kind birdie light.

A soft floaty bed canopy was upcycled by using old outgrown clothes to make fabric flowers. By doing this we have made it personal and kept the cost to a minimum.

Testimonial from the owner;

“Having just arrived in the UK our aim was to settle our little one soonest. Her existing bedroom was a football lovers’ dream – not quite what I had in mind. Nich had some wonderful ideas and the best thing – she was happy to work with a tight budget! The room was transformed within a short period. Nich thank you for bringing a fairy-tale to life.”
